Based upon the concept of a similar band from the USA, Peter Westbrook, Editor in Chief of the Flute Journal and founding chair of the National Flute Association, decided to establish a similar ensemble here in the UK. Led by virtuoso flautist Gareth Lockrane, the band will perform arrangements specially written for the ensemble and is packed full of some of the finest flute players in the country, including the likes of Allison Neale, Rowland Sutherland, Tori Freestone, Eddie Parker and Keith Waithe and features a rhythm section that includes the Award winning Tom Cawley on piano and Ryan Trebilcock on bass.
