Jazz First Tuesday: Roger Beaujolais
A talented musician, Roger Beaujolais started playing vibraphone aged 24. He is self-taught and at 30, turned professional. With his first band the Chevalier Brothers with Ray Gelato, he played in over 15 countries across three continents and made many TV and radio appearances, as well as playing the major jazz festivals in Europe. Roger made four albums for Acid Jazz Records under the name of Vibraphonic & the Beaujolais Band, achieving a number one on the jazz charts in the USA, before forming his acoustic quintet and his own record label. Roger has performed with Duffy Rumer, Robert Plant, Roni Size, Guy Chambers and many more. He is Professor of Music at Trinity College of Music, Greenwich. For Jazz First Tuesday Roger will be playing with Jim Mullen on guitar & Simon Thorpe on double bass. Roger’s lunchtime session offers a unique jazz experience not to be missed.
