Bassist Jim Richardson & Ubuntu Music’s Martin Hummel speak to Chris Philips about the album Chet Baker Live in London on The Blueprint – Jazz FM

In 1983 Chet Baker played six consecutive nights at The Canteen in London with The John Horler Trio (John Horler – piano, Jim Richardson – bass and Tony Mann – drums). Richardson recorded these landmark performances on a basic Sony TCS audiocassette recorder. The recordings have been meticulously restored and released as a two CD set Chet Baker Live in London to critical acclaim.

The John Horler Trio has been reunited to present music from the album at The Cockpit Theatre for Jazz in the Round. The concerts will also feature Quentin Collins on trumpet, Leo Richardson on saxophone and special guest Norma Winstone on vocals.   Not to be missed!
