South London Jazz Orchestra celebrates International Women’s Day IWD Big Band Concert

Based in Brixton, the SLJO brings you an afternoon of swing, jazz and Latin charts harking back to the golden era of the Big Band. In recognition of International Women’s Day, the band will feature a number of SLJO’s finest female players alongside the incredible Georgie Fellows, singing with us again after a number of barnstorming appearances at the club. The set will feature favourites from some of the greatest Big Band leaders and vocalists of all time – Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Dinah Washington, Count Basie and Glenn Miller, alongside a few surprises specially prepared just for this gig.
