Live @ Dawkes: Allison Neale Quartet
Allison Neale – Alto Sax/ Flute
Alex Bryson – Piano
Jeremy Brown – Bass
Matt Fishwick – Drums
American-born altoist Allison Neale’s beautifully crafted lines evoke the spirit of Paul Desmond and Art Pepper with whom she has a particular affinity.
As a strong advocate of the melodic West Coast style she has performed alongside leading international artists such as Adelaide Hall and Bud Shank and more recently tenorist Scott Hamilton and New York guitarist Peter Bernstein, who features on her upcoming CD ‘Quietly There’ released in 2020.
She has performed in both the John Dankworth ‘Generations‘ Band’ and the ‘Back to Basie’ Orchestra and also the ‘Two of a Mind’ Project alongside multi-reed man Chris Biscoe and frequently tours the UK with her current Quartet, which also features young jazz pianist Alex Bryson, bassist Jeremy Brown and drummer Matt Fishwick. She has three previous CDs to her name ‘Melody Express’ with guitarist Dave Cliff and ‘Blue Concept’ with trumpeter Gary Kavanagh , both on 33 Records, and ‘I Wished on the Moon’ on the Trio Records label, featuring Leon Greening and Milt Jackson-influenced vibraphonist Nat Steele.
“Allison Neale plays the alto saxophone with a tone so light and airy it positively melts at the edges.”

Live @ Dawkes: Georgina Jackson Trio
Georgina Jackson (Trumpet/Vocals)
Graham Harvey (Piano)
Dave Chamberlain (Bass)
Singer & Trumpet player extraordinaire, Georgina Jackson is a musical force to be reckoned with. This session with her trio will feature a swinging mix of vocals and brass with numbers from Peggy Lee and Frank Sinatra to Dusty Springfield and everything in-between. Georgina put on a sold-out gig on the Dawkes Live stage in 2021 and we can’t wait to welcome her back with some new material.
Georgina began her musical career working as a professional trumpet player, playing with many famous faces on the scene, such as Frank Sinatra Junior, Nancy Sinatra and Seal, as well as touring Big Bands in Concert Halls, television and radio.
The critical success of her first album led to Georgina landing her dream job at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz club in London as resident singer with The Ronnie Scotts Jazz Orchestra, where she has performed most months for the past 10 years. Her long-awaited second album ‘Watch What Happens’ was released in June 2012.
Georgina now works internationally as a Cabaret Artiste performing her ‘One Woman’ entertaining trumpet/ vocal shows on the world’s most prestigious cruise lines. Recent notable performances have included, BBC TV”s ‘The Big Band Proms’ at the Royal Albert Hall, North Sea Jazz Festival and as a headline performer at International trumpet conferences in Hollywood, Naples and San Paulo in Brazil.
“A smoky-voiced singer … who has made impressive appearances with the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, she covers all the bases on this big-band, orchestral and small band set. As a vocalist, Jackson is equally at home with standards from More to Lover and Michel Legrand’s sultry title track.” The Times
