Jason Lyon

Jason Lyon is a pianist who was first active on the London jazz and Latin scene in the early ’90s. After a break to concentrate on his day gig as a journalist, he returned to the fray about ten years ago. His main focus now is backing a string of accomplished and varied soloists on his weekly residency, and fostering a friendly jam session afterwards. He’s also managed cabaret shows, written small and big band arrangements and composed a classical piano concerto. He’s written two books, one of which is recommended by Gary Burton at Berklee. He blogs regularly and teaches – mostly casually, after a gig and over a beer.
