Overlooking the river Thames in the south west London suburb of Barnes, The Bull’s Head is one of the first and most important jazz venues in Britain. It opened as a jazz venue in 1959 in the same year as Ronnie Scott’s and became known as the “suburban Ronnie Scott’s” and in 2009, was named by the Brecon Jazz Festival as one of twelve venues which had made the most important contributions to jazz music in the United Kingdom.The pub was taken over by Geronimo Inns in 2013, and the music room was moved to a different part of the premises and reopened at the beginning of 2014.
